Clue scroll steps: find the answer, the square and what to bring

A clue scroll, a sextant, an emerald ring and a hard casket

A clue scroll gives one step at a time, and each step only makes sense once you know what kind it is. Type any part of the text you see, an area name, or both into the clue solver, and it shows the answer, the square on the world map and anything the step asks you to wear, bring or fight.

Anagrams and cryptic clues name a person or a place

An anagram scrambles the name of someone you must talk to. "A ZEN SHE" unscrambles to Zenesha, who runs the platebody shop in East Ardougne. Look up A ZEN SHE: the solver names her, links her page and says which slide puzzle she hands you before she gives the next step. Its map link opens the world map on her square and marks it, so you can find it among the shop and market icons.

Cryptic clues work the same way with a riddle in place of the scrambled name.

Emote clues ask you to wear something

An emote step names a place and an emote, and usually a set of items to wear while you perform it. "Dance a jig by the entrance to the Fishing Guild" asks for the Jig emote while wearing an emerald ring, a sapphire amulet and a bronze chainbody. Look up the Fishing Guild jig to see the items with their pages and the corners of the area where the emote counts. Higher-level emote steps also name an enemy that appears before you can finish.

Many emote steps have a hidey-hole nearby where you can store their items in advance, so you do not need to carry them on every clue.

Coordinates need a sextant

A coordinate step gives degrees and minutes north or south and east or west. Reading it in the game needs a sextant, a watch and a chart, but the solver turns the text straight into the square and the place. "00 degrees 00 minutes north, 07 degrees 13 minutes west" is at Tyras Camp, and a Saradomin wizard attacks when you dig there.

Scans list every dig spot in an area

A scan step names an area and tells you to search it with an orb. Filter the solver by Scan and type the area name, and it lists every dig spot in that area, each with its map link. Pages of results keep the filter in the address, so a reload or a shared link shows the same list.

What the solver does not cover yet

Compass steps list their dig spots by area, as scans do, but the solver cannot yet narrow them down from the direction your compass points. Map clue images and the puzzle solutions are not in the solver yet.
