RS4, a new RuneScape MMO

RS4 is the working title of a new RuneScape MMORPG built in Unreal Engine. It sits alongside RuneScape, Old School RuneScape and Dragonwilds and replaces none of them.

The game is set in the Sixth Age and begins in Ashenfall, the land first explored in Dragonwilds, years after the death of the Dragon Queen Kuldra. Platforms, accounts, membership, combat and skills are not announced. Jagex says the game is a few years away and will share more next year.

RuneScape Reignited on 2 December

Reignited is a permanent character type with its own economy, Grand Exchange and hiscores, and no paid progression. Existing characters continue as Veteran characters, a character can never change type, and from 2 December every new character chooses between the two.

Veteran and Reignited characters share worlds, chat, clans and homesteads, but cannot trade with each other or share boss instances. Every Reignited character gets members' worlds free from 2 to 12 December. The RuneScape Reignited guide covers membership, MTX and the merge question.

The same update adds the Adventure Guide, an optional recommended path through the game, and the first remaster of the early journey. Demon Slayer, Vampyre Slayer and Dragon Slayer gain boss fights with mechanics and health bars.

Hoard of Dragons, early 2027

The first 2027 arc starts in January. Dragon Slayer II continues the story of Dragon Slayer on the new Dragon Isle and uncovers the past of Oziach.

The Clue Expansion update in the same arc adds Grandmaster clue scrolls, solved through a dragon's dungeon claimed by Uri. The arc also reworks Agility and its courses.

The City of Gnomes, summer 2027

The second arc brings The Curse of Arposandra, a grandmaster quest that ends the long-running gnome storyline against Glouphrie the Untrusted, who also becomes a new solo boss. All six existing gnome quests are remastered.

Argento's Nightmare is the first community skilling boss, one per world and open to anyone without an instance. It trains Woodcutting, Firemaking, Divination and Farming.

Secrets of Karamja

The third arc adds a raid, the Temple of Ah Za Rhoon. The Archaeology Guild returns to the temple from Shilo Village, and the raid ends in a fight with the Witch Queen Rashiliyia. More of this arc will be revealed later in 2027.
